Most graduate-level study abroad programs are managed by the graduate schools. Graduate students interested in studying abroad should contact their graduate school to learn more about available study abroad opportunities within their school.

Prospective students are eligible to apply, if they meet certain criteria:

  • Completed at least one semester on campus prior to the start of the program
  • Maintain good academic standing (3.0 cumulative GPA or higher)

GW’s School of Business application process varies depending on whether a student is completing a short- or long-term study abroad program. Eligible students have:

  • Completed at least one semester on campus prior to the start of the program
  • Maintained good academic standing (3.0 cumulative GPA or higher) and meet any additional admissions criteria specific to their chosen exchange program

GSEHD prepares graduates for careers in an increasingly interconnected world by broadening perspectives and developing cultural competencies. On faculty-led study tours, students engage with partners and institutions at international conferences, academic exchanges, research practicums, and training workshops.

The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) offers several short-term study abroad courses (one per semester), called Global Perspective Residencies (GPRs), for graduate students.

The George Washington University Law School

GW Law offers a range of programs for students to study in other parts of the world. Additional Opportunities

Students traveling abroad for a fellowship, internship, independent research (e.g., capstone or thesis), competition, or other type of activity related to their GW experience must complete the International Travel Approval Process if their program does not have a pre-existing GW application.
