GW Global Scholars

Fulbright Scholar speaking at Global Scholars Breakfast

Hakim Jan, a Fulbright Scholar from Afghanistan, discusses how international exchanges empower global citizens.

Each year, GW welcomes scores of international students who enroll in academic programs under the sponsorship of their home government, non-governmental organizations, or a private individual or entity. Also known as GW Global Scholars, these students represent many countries and engage in study in a variety of academic disciplines in undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree programs. The Carlos Slim and Macau Scholars are included among them.

In tandem with offices and schools across the university, the Office of International Programs provides administrative support for GW Global Scholars, identifying key resources, organizing special events, and helping to ease the students' adjustment to the classroom and student life. Recognizing their cultural and scholarly contributions to the university, we work to integrate the Scholars fully and to raise awareness of their participation in the campus community.
