What Is GW Related or Supported Travel?

Determine if you are on GW International Travel

A GW student traveling to a destination outside of the U.S., including U.S. territories (“Student”) who meets one or more of the following criteria is on GW-Related and/or GW-Supported (by funds or equipment) International Travel (collectively, “GW International Travel”), and such GW International Travel is subject to GW’s International Travel Policy (“Policy”):

If your travel is subject to the Policy as identified above, the next steps are:

Check High-Risk Travel Requirements & Submit High-Risk Travel Proposal

Check your destination’s U.S. Department of State and Centers for Disease Controls travel advisory levels for High Risk travel requirements/forms at: Planning GW Related or Supported Travel. To participate in GW International Travel to a high-risk destination as defined by the Policy, you must request and obtain advance permission by submitting a High-Risk Travel Proposal in GW Passport.

Register Travel in GW Passport

Register your travel itinerary, contact information while abroad, and a copy of your passport in GW Passport (see the International Travel Registration link at: Planning GW Related or Supported Travel).

If this criteria does not apply to you, the recommended next steps are:

Consider Purchasing Insurance

Consider purchasing emergency medical and evacuation insurance through an individual plan - GeoBlue is one option.

Do Not Register Travel in GW Passport

Do not register your travel in GW Passport
