When Associate Provost Donna Scarboro contacted Professor Denver Brunsman to tell him she knew of a visiting politician who was interested in an American history tour, his ears perked up. Finding a politician who would prioritize such a tour during an international visit is a rare and welcome opportunity for Dr. Brunsman (Associate Professor of History), who took part of his Saturday to host the group – Treasurer of Australia, Scott Morrison, and his staff – at the Mount Vernon estate.
While they were at Mount Vernon, they were treated to a VIP tour, and the treasurer was able to lay a wreath in Geoge Washington’s tomb. Dr. Brunsman reported that the day was a great success and that the group thoroughly appreciated the hospitality.
