BCBS Global Solutions/Crisis24 Restricted Locations
Travel to the Middle East Suspended
GW Related or Supported Travel to the Middle East for Students, Faculty and Staff is Suspended until further notice in accordance with GW’s insurance/security assistance provider.
This applies to travel to the following locations:
Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
Note: the locations could be expanded at short-notice. Check Planning GW Related or Supported Travel for updates.
Prior approval is required by Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions (BCBS Global Solutions)/Crisis24 for travel to the following Restricted Locations:
Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia (Tigray region only), Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria (Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, and northern Adamawa states only), North Korea, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories (Gaza only), Republic of South Sudan, Russia, Somalia, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela and Yemen.
Submit the Prior Approval Request form (PDF) to: risk
gwu [dot] edu (risk[at]gwu[dot]edu). Prior Approval Request forms for travel to Restricted Locations should be submitted a minimum of 3 business days prior to travel.
If Approval is not received from BCBS Global Solutions/Crisis24 in advance of GW Related or Supported Travel to the above Restricted Locations, the associated travel will be ineligible for Political Emergency and Natural Disaster (PEND) evacuation services through GW’s insurance/security assistance provider should the need arise.
